Be carefull when you open the cover!
after removing the rubber pads at the under side you can reach all screws.
Remove the metal plate under the illuminating acrylic and cut off the part that holds the "mode switch" button. This is necessary to make enough room for adding the hat-switch and the usb wire. And it also reduces
weight .
Also cut the usb wire at a length of 20cm.
remove the isolation of it and let it now go out through a new hole you made just right there were the aluminium rod will be mounted.
I hope all looks fine.
Now starts the tricky part!
You have to make a hole at the positon of the button "10"
I used a very sharp scissor rotating it decent from the under side of the acryl to get this hole.
The card module (? in german we call it "platine" and i found no comparable word for it) for the hat switch is not that tricky how it looks.
remove first both micro switches with the soldering iron or cut them wit the cutter off. Then make it carefully smaller by cutting off the unused parts for the micro switches. You have to reconnect only four of the wires:
red: 3.5 V
yellow: X-axis
white: y-axis
black: ground
Don't forget to cut of the silicon after you have screwed the Hat switch
at its place and dont forget to reconnect the shift button "21" with a long and thin enough wire (I used a wire from cheap mono Headphones).
And also dont forget to "make room" for the oversized hat switch card module
at the cover by cutting some plastic off.
And re connect the usb.

So! Everything looks great!? then lets go to cut the metal rod to size.
It also needs some skills to cut it right to fit the underside of the saitek...unit! Check it often - Here you need time and sandpaper.
When it looks and feels fine mount all together.
Allright! everything fits right like on the following picture? Test it with your profile editor. At this point you can easy change things.
Just mount the grip(i have used a black foam grip instead of rubber.
You donnt swaet so much and the soft foam hides also the outcomming parts of the hat switch. Advantage number 3: you can easy place the shift button!
